1:26 minute video is 5.39GB

So, i was using FRAPS to record a short clip, and the video is 1:26 minutes long, however, its 5.39GB. If i record a 20-30min clip, then the file size would be OFF-THE-CHARTS! Is there anything out there that can record in avi format without the huge file siz? (my guess is that FRAPS records in a extremely high bit-rate)

why do you need AVI?

this could be solved using OBS limiting bit rate a different codec.

Fraps records in an uncompressed format. Try OBS, or Shadowplay (if you have nvidia).

Or record with fraps and use ffmpeg to compress the video.

The Windows 10 built-in recorder is also pretty decent if you need something that's just good enough.

FRAPS is historically known for having giant filesizes for recordings, due to the high-bitrate recording settings in the (now positively ancient) AVI format.

It's cheap enough to get and doesn't matter what GPU drivers/software you're using, but you need LARGE amounts of drive space (like dedicate a 1TB HDD at minimum for recording to if recording regularly) to record with it before you shrink it down with programs like ffmpeg or Handbrake to re-encode it to MP4.

That's some insane bitrate. Try with software which allows you to change bitrate manually. For 720p 3500kbs is enough, for 1080p 5000kbs. Also, since FRAPS is old, you are forced to lock to recording fps when gaming. You've chosen 90fps while it should be 60fps at most.
