If you had a $1,000 budget for a GPU what would you get. The goal  to get the highest possible performance for a price of $1,000. (SLI is allowed)

since a titan XP is over $1000

I'd go with a 1080ti. ($700 for a nice one)

I would have to agree. The value of this card is incomparable. I regret buying my 1080 and I wish I had a 1080ti to power my 4K 60Hz screen

Hands down 1080Ti. They're going for $700-850 used & you may can snag a rare one new for MSRP directly from an OEM.

Yes, which is why it's cheaper and a perfect candidate for water cooling. Did you happen to also check out their other 1080 Ti's? There more expensive due to the better cooling but the price reflects that with the 1080 Ti Duke costing $715 which is a pretty amazing deal considering your getting it new and with a 3-year warranty when 1080 Ti's used are going for, and the closest to MSRP we have seen in months.

They are all cheap, don't need to sacrifice getting a lower end card just to put a block on it.

I'm talking on the used market. Check local listings.

Also, NVIDIA.com has FE 1080 ti's for MSP that you CAN get your hands on if you are diligent. I check times a day, and they DO come in from time to time.

I think a user on here is currenlty selling a nice EVGA card for $650 shipped.
