Uploader has some quality garbage.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. all i can see is that i loved the documentary, lot's of amazing topics and facts are set for discussion, i have no idea about region blocks or copyrights, just watched it, i'm a simple person

things like robots are already doing surgeries and how not only low paying jobs and skill sets can be affected, or examples of how far AI has already gone or the discussion on ethics surrounding autonomous weapons just blew my mind. I guess we kind of know this things are coming but being presented with them, wow, just wow.

And the opinions of some of this brilliant people about how long till this things we consider far off sci fi will actually materialize is kind of scary to be honest.

The internet is dead to me

So glad that I moved to Mexico. In Germany there are a lot of copyright problems too. Geez I remember when you couldn't even listen to music because of the GEMA...

if it's copyrighted then it's copyrighted (lol) just don't watch the YT video, just find another way, a legal way. The most important is the message not the vehicle of the message.

I just find it interesting that if copyright is the problem it is not available to view in certain countries but available to view in other countries.

the owner may have a distribution deal in some countries and other don't. For those that he doesn't have he doesn't care. I don't know. Still it's a common thing on YT.

Yeah it sucks but if you search around on YT others have uploaded the video. Thanks to Elon Musk it was free to watch for a few days, but currently the only legal way to watch is rent it for $3.99.

So using a VPN is illegal in that case?

TL;DR of my thought train(didn't feel like typing the whole thing out):

AI has its spot in the world. But I honestly wouldn't trust it with too much. Defense is an important area sure, arguably the most important, and AI could definitely help out there. But the whole "robots replacing humans" deal is something that I don't agree with. Again, AI has its spot and can be useful, but I would prefer having a seasoned professional surgeon(for example) operating on me rather than a programmed robot that could malfunction. As for AI taking jobs, it definitely does that. Who knows how long before Uber and Lyft or even taxis get pushed out by autonomous vehicles.

That is not a problem. If services, production etc. is maintained by AI/ Robots then we would not need to work anymore, except for a few jobs like maintenance and development, and could focus on what we really want to do.

Agreed, but if AI takes over entry level jobs like flipping burgers at McDonald's, job opportunities for teens could take a huge drop.

having worked at McDonald's for a few months (quit after finding something better) the only burger we really flipped was the quarter pounder.

Then I guess the regular patties when being put into a tray/

A lot of McDonald's have that double sided grill right?  It pretty much takes all the burger flipping out of it. IMO not sure if there is really any need for a burger flipping robot anymore...I'm sure a fully automated McDonald's would be possible even today. But the cost and maintenance of those robots would be way higher than paying a bunch of teens minimum wage. I don't want to turn this into a living wage debate but if the federal minimum wage gets raised to $15/hour it could make fast food robot tech more appealing.

well it's gonna turn into a living wage discussion

Well for 40 employees all working 20 hours a week, making $15/hr for one month would be $48,000

For one year that would be $576,000.
That 40 employee number might not be for one McDonald's *in this example* it could be across a franchisee's stores or they have 40 employees working more or less than 20 hours which is often the case

but in any case, I still expect that outside of the initial investment of further automating their kitchens and potentially even serving customers that the maintenance of fully or nearly entirely automated kitchen and front end would eventually start paying for itself after some while

why do you need to work anyway if the robots do everything?
