Gaming headphones, replacements for the HyperX clouds

Beef Boss

About a year ago or so I purchased HyperX clouds, they worked perfectly for awhile and I loved them. After replacing the adapter for the separate mic and headset I'm kinda at a spot where I don't know if I should buy new headphones or just keep replacing the adapter. The other wires aren't fairing well either... So that brings up a question, should I just get another adapter? If so, what kind is good? If no, then what sub 100 dollar USD headphones with a mic would you suggest for gaming only.

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

32gb 3200mhz gskil

SHP9500 + vmoda boompro, it will be $100-110 +/- (source: amazon usa)

Hands down best gaming headset, nothing will come close to that deal imo. BUT do note those are open backs so sound will leak in and out of the headphone.

Nicobombai suggested a great headphone if you can have open back! if not I would highly suggest the ATH-M40X I found a deal on amazon.com that comes with a lapel inline mic and in the future you could attach a massdrop mini mic or antilion mod mic for 20-45$.  Also another really important upgrade to these headphones is the Brainwaves HM5 angled pads they increase the soundstage of the headphones and the comfort is vastly improved.

Seriously go for the m40x or the SHP 9500's if you can have open back!

cheers.

One of these two for sure. SHP9500s and Vmoda Boompro. Or M40X with HM5 angled pads and a Modmic.

Dont buy a "gaming" headphone or headset the quality is just horrible...

Seriously listen to recommendations listed above and you will be much more happy than anything from the brands you just listed.  If you plan on using them with a PS4 then you could also purchase a simple USB Sound card to plug into your PS4 then plug the headphones into there but seeing as both headphones terminate in a 3.5mm or 1/4" headphone jack you could probably plug them directly into the controller without issue or maybe a very cheap adapter.

What im trying to avoid is adapters. Any adapter I buy they wear out quickly. I'm trying to find a headset with a mic that has the headset and mic plug in one.

I'm quite sure you can plug and play without any adapters with sph9500+vmoda boom pro, they end up in 1 cable that can go straight to the controller iirc.

And this combo have been out for quite sometime now and loads of console users have and/or are moving to it cos gaming headsets truly suck in general and you're paying for the gaming name rather than quality.

This is hardly considered an adapter its more of a cable / plug:

https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-Headphone-Separate-Microphone-Smartphone/dp/B0773KV7Z3/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1520477061&sr=8-5&keywords=3.5mm+microphone+%2F+headphone+cable+y

Get that with:

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M40x-Professional-Headphones-Headphone/dp/B00UG7QMPO/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1520477107&sr=1-3&keywords=ATH+m40x

And if your budget permits these ear pads for the headphones they improve comfort and soundstage:

Cheap version probably very long shipping:

https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Cushion-Earmuff-Brainwavz-Headphones/dp/B0756QRX5V/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1520477284&sr=1-5&keywords=HM5+angled+ear+pads

Brainwaves branded ones amazon prime fast shipping:

https://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Angled-Memory-Foam-Earpad/dp/B00ZY8PGJI/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1520477284&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=HM5+angled+ear+pads

You will not be disappointed with this setup but this is the last post from me!

Good luck with your purchase

Cheers.

With this new fangled mic, could I instead of buying new headphones use my Sony XB950N1's and get that microphone to add on?

The boompro requires a stereo jack detachable cable. Go with the recommendation; SHP9500 and BoomPro. You won't regret it.

To be honest i really don't know whether its compatible or not in that headphone.

I would just stick to SHP9500 if its just for pure gaming.

Yeah, it won't work because the plug is too thick to fit in my Sony headphones... Enough people have suggested it and it has good enough reviews I'm probably going to go through with the SHP9500
