Those aren't too bad for folding. I've run F@h on a dual A5000 machine, and it was doing right around 10M PPD IIRC.

Phobos: AMD Ryzen 7 2700, 16GB 3000MHz DDR4, ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 1030, 1TB Samsung SSD 980, 450W Corsair CXM, Corsair Carbide 175R, Windows 10 Pro

Polaris: Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASRock X79 Extreme6, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 1TB Crucial MX500, 750W Corsair RM750, Antec SX635, Windows 10 Pro

Pluto: Intel Core i7-2600, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASUS P8Z68-V, 4GB XFX AMD Radeon RX 570, 8GB ASUS AMD Radeon RX 570, 1TB Samsung 860 EVO, 3TB Seagate BarraCuda, 750W EVGA BQ, Fractal Design Focus G, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

is it this?

When you set up F@H, did you change any of the settings for the CPU slot? Seems like it's using all of the cpu's threads for folding which can cause instability.

If you didn't change them, maybe F@H doesn't know how to treat performance cores and efficiency cores correctly in the Intel chips? Anyone have experience with these chips and F@H?

I havent changed anything, what should I do to increase stability

I hit 700W on an i5 with a NHD15

Also I'm 14 so please just confirm anything I say with someone more experienced

I'm not at home so I can't take screenshots myself but these should help.

1. Open up the advanced control client take note of which slot your cpu is folding on. From your log, it seems like the cpu should be slot 0. You can check that by looking at the ID next to "cpu" in the middle of the screen.

2. When you know your cpu slot, click configure in the upper left corner.

Configuration guide – Folding@home

3. In the configure screen, click on the "slots" tab and find the slot number that corresponded to your cpu. Open up that slot.

4. Try changing the number of threads dedicated to your cpu from the default "-1" to 18. Leave the rest of it as is. Click save and back out.

How to Run Folding@Home on a Graphics Card in Windows 10 | Green Folding@Home

Give that a shot. You can always decrease the number further if 18 doesn't fix your issue. The new Intel chips have difference kinds of cores and there's a chance that the mix of efficiency and power cores may not play nice with F@H. I don't have any experience with those chips so I would have to defer to someone else on that.

Good luck!

Here's a bit of Folding@home hardware gore for you all:

image.thumb.jpeg.39065bc93a16083afe1c92cfcfb2b284.jpeg

That's four single slot Quadro cards (two Quadro M4000, two Quadro P4000, each with 8GB of VRAM), and they're all installed in one Dell Precision system. Because of the PCIe slot layout two of the cards are sitting right behind another card, and these Quadros already run very warm in ideal conditions. With F@h running at full load on all of them they'll very easily burn your fingers. Ask me how I know...

I absolutely will not be leaving these configured like this for long term use. I have no intentions of abusing hardware like this. Two of these cards are extremely airflow starved, which isn't good. I don't fold on the M4000s 24/7 anymore since they aren't efficient enough, but I like using them during folding events. The P4000s are both staying in this machine and will be running F@h when I'm not using it for other tasks.

If anyone in Eastern Ontario is looking to pick up some RTX-2000-series cards at reasonable prices PM me. I've put 6 cards up on a local marketplace but would rather they go to someone that can use them for Folding.

No problem, I kinda want to get one too because of the insane value performance but also CSGO might run better on the Intel UHD 770
