Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Why is it better? I'm really liking Android after iOS.

It’s waaaaaaay more reliable and responsive. And the OS is just way better optimized and apps are more seamless and just overall the user experience is way better and a whole lot less clunky.

android phones I consider to be *better* to an extent. Offering a lot more features at lower prices, I certainly see the appeal.

But going off of a strictly software comparison... iOS is just a better mobileOS. Not to mention since a lot of people have iPhones you can use iMessage built in seamlessly to the messaging app and it’s waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better then having to use sms to talk to your friends and family ESPECIALLY when sending media to them. Not to mention I find sms in general to be unreliable. Nothing more aggravating when you have a message that won’t send.... “google contacts stopped working” *ok* “google contacts stopped working” *reboot*

lol little things like that just drive me up the wall insane and make me want to throw the phone out the window

hm.. I haven't had any of those problems. MIUI is pretty solid, good looking and fast, and apps haven't been crashing.

I call my family and for texting use Snapchat/other social media so that hasn't been a problem for me. What android device do you have?

Custom pinewood case, Corsair CX 600WRampage 3 Extreme, i7 980x (@4.2ghz) with ML240 Cooler MSI GTX 970, 24gb DDR3, 240gb OCZ Tr150 SSD + 2Tb Seagate Baracuda.

Going for the X huh? I personally think its pretty ugly. Don't like the sensor band taking up screen room. Plus gotta wait for the eventual facegate to pass.

I don’t think the ”facegate” is going to be that bad lol + I am forced to use passcode  right now and while on android for the most part and it doesn’t bother me to enter 6 digits every time I unlock a phone

the phone design doesn’t really bother me and neither does the notch... id rather no notch but I don’t think it’s going to be that bothersome really especially if apple is working around it in software which they seem to be doing. Don’t have to full screen videos if you don’t want anyway...

Input lag is another thing on android. Even on newer devices. I was using a friends S8+ the other day and was appalled that even brand new phones still have that slight bit of input lag that you don’t get on iOS...

granted I was using a G3 with a custom rom that may explain some of the crashing but still...

I’m not going to tel everyone I know “hey get this app so I can text you” and have to talk to 8 different people through 8 different apps when I can just use iMessage and have it all in one place all integrated nicely into one app. It’s just better and waaaay more seamless.

Integration on is a big thing on iOS... and the way apps link to each other is way better.

Plus no java... I blame java for a lot of things but it’s really awful and very irritating because I know a lot of things could perform sooooo much better if they weren’t coded in and using java lol

Yeah, the fact that you're using a G3 explains a few things.

All my friends already have snapchat/whatever else so that also hasn't been a problem for me.

You answered your issues yourself lol. That explains the input lag as well, and the fact you still have to use a "number code" to unlock the device. The thing is, the G3 actually has a knock code feature where you could tap the screen in like 4 different spots and unlock it. However these days, fingerprint scanners are abundant and very quick as well. Still no point in saying that one is better than the other, it's literally all personal preference lol.

I was referencing my use of a brand new s8+ when speaking of input lag...

the knock feature i knew about. I don’t like it. Rather just enter a passcode or use biometrics.

I still maintain that iOS is better for daily use. Android is better for tinkering.

I think we discussed this a bit at some point.

The prevalence of imessage is not a thing in all countries.

It’s the biggest selling point IMO.

its soooo good. Apple should totally sell it on android and it be a all-in-one messaging app like it is on iOS.

another thing — iOS is way more secure and has better guarantee of long term updates

I'd like to try iphones, since I'm about the most casual phone user. Some of y'all parents probably use their phones more actively than me.

But that also goes against them. Their cost is just prohibitive for me and my uses.

How'd you plumb that in? Did you use a sandwich plate? If so whats the best way to find the right one? I know my oil filter thread is M20x1.5 and IIRC the filter is 2.5" OD

I'm just trynna get an oil cooler and oil temp gauge. If Ebay isn't the best place to go, I won't go there :P

that's what I wanted too. It ended up with me pulling off a damaged oil filter, the sandwich plate that leaked, and the adapter that took off the fitting on the oil pump, so I got to make a last-minute run to the Honda dealership an hour away so I had a car to drive to work the next morning.

Fuuuuuuck that

precisely. now the oil pump fitting comes off with every filter because there's no way to tighten it into the pump housing.
