Linus just got me a pass for computer science

so I have been doing a computer science course for the last few months and we had an exam, as it is only a part time course we do most the research and work ourselves at home. so to get ready for my exam I watched all of the tech quicke videos (been a fan for LTT for few years so have watched most of the main channel videos) so after a week of watching every video I sat my first exam, today I found out I got a merit (B).

just thought this is a cool thing, and wanted to share it with the community.

I took an A+ practice exam and got 80% on it just off of knowledge I got from LTT and TQ.

I can personally say that more people going for Computer-related fields should watch LTT/TQ. It's a great refresher for those who already have the content, and a good introduction for those who are new to technology :)

But man when I was in school I didn't have the luxury of YouTube videos.. I'm also pretty sure NCIXTechTips wasn't even a thing back then. I wish I had these sort of videos & such to help me, would've been so awesome.

I'm a Highschool student. We offer classes at a nearby technical center. One of which is a computer information systems course. The problem is, would it be a waste of time considering how much I've learned from channels like LTT.

It’s another ranking system alongside the A*-F grades. Most courses use grades while some use this system which uses:

Fail, Pass, Merit and Distinction increasing in better results. A merit is equivalent to a grade B, hence it was in brackets.

It’s more so used in vocational subjects where you must complete a required amount of work to obtain the level, rather than definitive percentage marks, such as catering or engineering etc. Anyway, back on topic.

That's never a problem, in a field like IT it's better to learn as much as you can, from as many sources as possible. I learned a fair bit from LTT and similar channels, but I was able to learn a lot more when I started studying for my A+.

I've started studying for Network+ and there are so many acronyms for protocols and technologies that aren't commonly known that I've kind of questioned my own networking knowledge. I knew that I didn't know as much as others but it really surprised me just how much more there is to be honest.

I was responsible for training some underclassmen in computer work before I graduated high school last year and used a bunch of TechQuickie videos to give them a crash course in what they'd be working with. They explained things far better than I would have been able to (and also much clearer than I would have).
