How avout fusion driven nuclear gas turbine. Use the reactor to super heat and expand atmospheric gasses and go through a turbine to power a generator or straight into the drivetrain.

@Alex Colson one thing about the suit is that it shouldnt be able to exceed 3-5G acceleration to not knock out the pilot. This would be ignored during an emergency or say during a stall scenario. Anothimg thing worth considering is how much of a wing you want the suit to be. The lift co-efficient of the human body is terrible.

All power in terms of acceleration should be put in the shoulder or hip region as it would be the best in terms of taking the forces. Stabilizing trusers should be in the shoulder region due to being relativly far away for center of mass and solid enough to take any force put on by the RCS trusters. Legs and arms should be fine in terms of being used as main control if the are locked in place and only has limited place to move. Stabilizing RCS should ve placed in shoulder region with the amergency stabilizing there aswell

The suit should be able to take control of leg and arm trusters to recover from spin situations.

Im still in for a fusion powered turbojet. As it probably is the only way to have high enough specific inpulse and having light enough fuel

The thing about that is the Speed of the suit may not be able to reach 3-5G but at a max speed and hard turning can cause it to enter that threshold.

The reasoning for having stabilising thrusters in the Palms and Feet are due to reaction from human input, this also allows for a simple system to register if in an emergency situation to reduce speed of the main thrusters. I need to get a sketch drawn on where the placement of thrusters and stabilisers would be.

Stabilisers where more gonna be Compressed air expulsion to maintain a level of flying while as stated main thrusters would be located on the Waist and/or chest region.

The Waist/Hip region thrusters where gonna be for Directional input while the chest front n Back ones would be for sustain flight. Meaning they would control trying to keep at a constant level of flight if User is traveling on a horizontal plane.

If your talking a lateral spin on the user meaning head to toe spin then it would come down to cutting thrust from Feet stabilisers while increasing slightly the thrusters on the front of back of the chest to slow or reduce the spin to where human intervention can take control and resume flight path. If talking about an Arm to Arm spin then you would require your Shoulder thrusters to be multi direction when needed to correct that as forcing a Users arm to move due to an emergency could sustain injury's as it could be sudden when it takes over hydraulic control.

Talk more about it when I'm home

The dismissal of every single politician currently in office.

Commercial space flight.

Full electric offerings from the more established car manufacturers. (Almost there)

Lactose free milk that doesn't taste like absolute arse.

ITER making fusion power a viable source of energy.

I've tried all of the ones sold in my local stores. Something is always off enough for it not to really work out.

If you stop by norway i recommend milk from the brand called "Tine". Im shure you wont be dissapointed. Ive tasted whole milk with no processing directly from the farm because we own a milk farm and i dont taste any major differences. Its not 100% the same, but a close 95%. Also if you stop by Norway dont buy from the brand called "Q". They arent as good as "Tine"

@Alex Colson what do you think about WEP-ing (war emergency power) the engines in the suit. It is also known as takeoff power in commercial jets, but it was really common among ww2 and early cold war period in planes. This was untill after-burners took over i guess. Not shure. WEP will push the suit to its limit while it cant hold that throttle for too long without overheating.

You probably know of WEP if you've played warthunder

@GoldenLag ya i know about WEP. Ummm i would say that it should he something decided by the system and if drastically needed manual boot via the user. Using WEP to get initial thrust of the ground would be great but as these things are gonna be near human skin/contact i would ideally perfer it only activates during launch and when atmost lossing altitude too fast. Other than that it should be the normal thruster boost.

@TopDollar So theirs nothing you would like to see be brought to reality among the up coming years? Fully automated Vehicles, Teleportation, time-travel etc.

We already have fully automated vehicles; a big example being the automated train systems that shuttle passengers to different airport terminals. I expect we'll see more automated vehicles in the form of public transportation (buses, taxis, etc.) in the near future. Teleportation and time-travel (if even possible) is so far off it's likely we won't see anything like that in our life times.

I would rather see something along the lines of a big push for the development of electric aircraft. There's actually an FAA certified one out there now which shows real promise (Aero Electric Sun Flyer). Unit cost is estimated to be around $200,000, be about 1/4 of the operating cost of most current small piston aircraft, and endurance is around 2 hours I think. Makes it a decent trainer and good for local VFR flights. So many advantages if they can bump up that endurance and have reasonable charging times. Way more reliable than pistons, less workload on the pilot, and more powerful airplanes for less cost. I guess it would also be quieter as well for the snobs who decide to build houses at the end of runways (I see that as a disadvantage)

Give me a 4-6 seater electric aircraft that can cruise as fast as a Cirrus and has an endurance of about 7 hours and I'll be sold.

- war: all the media coverage about trump and putin and anything political recently really has gotten to me a little where i do think its at least not out of the question that one of these idiots might start something

- meeting e.t.: this kinda ties in with the point above where aliens that have visited earth before or have played a role in its history could probably tell us more about what happened. meeting other life forms would give us as humans maybe a new perspective and finally unite mankind so we can stp with our pitty differences.

1. War is basically over already. By that I mean large wars, between nations. War probably would die out due to deterrence. I doubt Purin or even Kim Joung Un would strike the US or any country for that matter over fear of invasion or another strike back. However, there will still be small disputes, terrorist attracts, etc.

2. I feel it's better we never meet ET, we have too many problems here already, I doubt another civilization being added would just make things worse

Also there's that whole "great filter " thing

What would I like to see? Nothing, I don't care. What I know will come is death, so unless someone figures out how to live forever, colonize mars, instantly travel to habitable planets destroy all intelligent lifeforms on them, and basically become the pests of the universe I don't care.

Just made this topic trivial :P
