So im not trying to make this a whole huge argument on the subject but i wana get your guys opinion.  Try and keep comments somewhat on topic and lets try not to curse each other out.  Im only doing this just to see where everyone is on this.  It came up recently when i was talking to my friend about the whole thing because he said that he wants to get into mining and that i told him not too.  My personal opinion is i nither love it nor hate it.  I am slowley leaning towards absolutley hating it especally if things continue the way they are in terms of pc compnents but i wana hear what you guys think?!

I wish there was a mixed feelings option. I hate some of the effects of crypto, namely the huge price increase in GPUs. But I think the idea of crypto and mining is really cool. My ideal situation would be if very few people did huge mining operations, but gamers could mine if they wanted to. That's not realistic though :(.

Tech, engineering, gaming and promoting the metric system. These are my things.

Listen, I know people consider crypto miners lazy assholes that are desperate for money, but in all honesty, it's like stocks (well, it is). Would you call a stockbroker a lazy piece of shit? Well, no, they are making money and it's their decision to do so, and they took the risk, so why not? Study the market, and if you think there is money to be made, then go for it by all means. I do think that it is quite unfortunate regarding the rise in GPU prices, but that forces companies to put more money into their products too keep up with manufacturing, and when they sell those, more money is being made for them. With the extra money, those companies can speed up R&D and make more effective and efficient products for us consumers down the line. I'm not against it or for it, do what you want.

To be fair I understand the pains of not getting a new card for a new computer build. I also love the Cryptocurrencies not because of the ROI on my GPU which I bought for gaming, but for the tech behind it. Doesn't matter if the currency itself fails, the tech will succeed and that's the whole point of the cryptoworld imo. Bitcoin may one day be a good use for currency but thats still possibly 100 years away, I think Ether will likely become a more stable currency before BTC...

No. Investing in new ideas is the key to progress. My problem is making those investments random and judging them on the wrong merits.
