keep i5 8400 at max turbo

i have a i5 8400 and a asus tuf z370 plus, my cooler is a noctua nh - d15, im wanting to be able to keep it at max turbo  all the time, how can i do this?

Nope...not that i know of. Ido believe that Intel is protecting their processor lineup so that people will but their kseries processors

Apart from turning Speedstep off there's not much you can do. It's going to run at the fastest frequency the engineers have allowed. Technically running all cores at default turbo speed is overclocking as it would require manual voltage tweaking.

That's known as "overclocking", which you need the K for.

i dont know if the plus has mce, try looking for it in the bios and if it has it, turn it on. But man that's a strange combo of parts, d15 on a 8400.

 

edit: since you obviously care about performance, you can also turn the bclk up to 102 for an 2% oc, beyond that it might be unstable for non-k cpus.

MCE won't do it 24/7.

D15 on a 8400 is pretty reasonable, 8400 can get hot when it's turboing sometimes.

yeah ive got it at 102.5 to give me 4.1 ghz and its perfectly stable
