where did you look to see if you registered on the team or not? kakao stats has had some problems lately.

You seem to be on the team now, so all is fine and dandy, it can take a while for you to finish a single project.

Then it takes even longer for the stats sites to notice as they only update a few times a day.

It might take some more time to see you on our team on the folding@home site, it doesn't show everyone.

 

Find yourself on the main site instead, and it says you are folding for the LTT team.

Started Folding as soon as I realized what it was. Only producing ~65000 pts per day though. I guess this is just more incentive to upgrade my CPU!

awesome :). 65k ppd isn't bad.

ppd will fluctuate wildly depending on what work unit you are working on.

But if you want more points gpu is the way to go.

cpu upgrade will yield little to nothing in comparison.

Good to know. Thanks for that tip. Just upgraded my GPU though so that will have to wait. This did reveal one other thing to me though. Time to upgrade my CPU cooler. I am within 8 degrees of my max temp.

 

Also: Does anybody know how much this would impact your power bill compared to heavy gaming, like Metro Last Light@1080p?

i have to say, kakao stats is by far my favorite stat tracker.

Much preferred over extreme overclocking.

It's so simple/systematic yet gives alot of information and a great overview.

It truly is a shame to see it go, especially as it was a cool personal project to a individual.

@ropesend and @AK0490 has more computing power at their disposal.

Not sure if they have a single piece of hardware with more than 500k ppd.

I've been using what I call the "lots and lots of GPUs"  method. Everything runs at stock speeds  and there is nothing crazy in there, but it all adds up pretty well. :)

folding doesn't use much at all, tops out at 3 GB(total including system)

Boinc on the other hand can use more than 15GB with 40+ individual projects running.

I've been using what I call the "lots and lots of GPUs"  method. Everything runs at stock speeds  and there is nothing crazy in there, but it all adds up pretty well. :)

I'm also on the lots of GPU's approach, I don't even have any of my CPU's fold, it's not worth the electricity.  My biggest single machine has a pair of 295x2's in it and produces about 850,000 a day.  I don't recommend them though, unless you also want a space heater, wasn't a cost effective decision either, but it's kinda nice to have a high end machine from both team green and team red.

 

Does anyone know why Kakao stats is shutting down? or what it would take to keep it going?
