$600 University, Adobe and Light Gaming Build

Nickco43

I have a budget of $600 and I need a desktop that can do Adobe work and light gaming. I want to take a more scrapyard wars approach to the build and I don't mind looking for deals on eBay or buying used parts.

Requirements:

1. 256GB PCIE SSD

2. Dedicated graphics

3. 80+ Bronze rated PSU

4. Back-lit mechanical keyboard.

Maybe something like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qHmZgL

I already have two IPS 1080p monitors, mouse, Windows key, Corsair 100R case. Micro Center is a 20 minute drive from me and I am a prime member,

I am not brand loyal at all, I just want the most band for the buck.

Thank you for your time.

Hard to squeeze everything in I'd not take the gpu I took but get a better used one, same for the keyboard.

It seems like something ryzen 3 powered is the way to go. Also I do not need a hard drive at all and the keyboard I will not include from the budget.

Wouldn't buy an MSI AM4 board

You probably want a better CPU than GPU, just buy the SSD later and you're good to go

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

That SSD isn't even an NVMe drive. For mainly content creation, a Ryzen 5 would be more sensible

Good catch. When I say Abobe work, I mean light photoshop. Ryzen 5 is only $40 more than Ryzen 3. I think I need to go and have a look at what is out their for deals.

Just FYI, a PCIe SSD at this price is a super bad idea. Maybe you meant a normal SATA one?

Perhaps go for a laptop, try get an 8250U with an MX150 and you’re golden. Perhaps there will be sales on last hen hardware with the new chips releasing.

Or maybe a used Lenovo Thinkpad, they’re super cheap with great performance

That's an F in the profile pic

I went shopping around for new and used parts. The used market prices are insane for these parts so I am just sticking with new except maybe a last gen GPU.

Micro center has very good prices on everything except SSDs and RAM.

I am probably going to pick up these parts from there: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lf8BsJ

Ram, SSD and GPU I will shop around for.
