I'm thinking of something like the 750D / 900D. I'm looking around $200-300, but I'd prefer closer to $200 since I want to rig it up with NF-S12's. Just throw ideas around.

900D is crap quality. Linus's review is bias as it's mostly plastic and the tabs break all the time. If you want a nice metal and powder coated case look at the Phanteks enthoo Primo. They have Special Editions too with preinstalled LEDs and color combos. Comes with way too much extra hardware too in a nice portable case. I am talking like 30 thumb screws, 40 fan screws, radiator screws, motherboard and so on. Also has dual PSU options and is big enough for 2 motherboards

I understand what you're looking for, but none really come to mind.

Fractal Design doesn't really do full glass side panels, so they're more or less out.

All I can recommend is some of Lian Li's cases. They generally follow a clean aesthetic.

Perhaps the Core x5? I wouldnt call thermaltake "high quality" but clean and profession get half checks each. Most of the Lian Li cases I was looking at were overbudget

It's not mostly plastic, I'll tell ya. If you want proof of ownership, I'll provide you one.

 

Only plastic bits are the hard drive sleds, ODD covers, air filters, and the top cover (though it is sleeved in metal, but it tends to bend out of shape, which makes it difficult to reinstall), and none contribute to its structural integrity.

 

But the 900D is crap on the cooling front, even for watercooling. It's front panel really restricts airflow, and the side intakes doesn't help much. Airflow is the #1 thing that'll determine the cooling system's performance, and if airflow is garbage, then the cooling system will not perform at its best.

i wasnt taking his opinion on the 900d very seriously, as i knew from watching multiple reviews (wow im not a linus only pleb) that when they get it right, the 900d can be very good.

It does have uses, I'll admit, but I'm not a big fan of the 900D anymore, and am now thinking about selling it off and replacing it with something more suitable for my expectations.

 

Which means the Corsair Carbide Air 740 for me.

 

If you want my recommendation for cases, I'm sorry, but a lot of the cases are terrible for cooling, or are not suitable for practical uses.

If you want my recommendation for cases, I'm sorry, but a lot of the cases are terrible for cooling, or are not suitable for practical uses.

ive had my fill of corsair cases, and im moving towards "just what i want". Define C is pretty much what I want.

Define C is a great case.  It's one of the most compact ATX towers out there, which I like, and it fits all my components just fine and looks great.  I've got an Asus Strix 1080 Ti and a Fractal Design Celsius S24 (240mm) cpu liquid cooler in mine.  Unless you're doing some crazy custom liquid cooling setup there really is no need for large cases. They'll be mostly empty space.
