well, a 980Ti comes pretty close to 1070 performance, some specific models even go a little beyond stock 1070's.

apart from a VEGA 64 i dunno about anything equal to a 1080 tough.

You mean other than 1070s and 1080s? The 1070ti is similar to the 1080 but often the same price so don't bother.

Vega 56 and 64 are close in performance to the 1070 and 1080 respectively and somewhat in price as well. The thing is those cards are very power hungry by comparison so the PC needs a very solid power supply (Good brand and quality of at least 600 or 650 watts) and you need high tolerance for noise since the dinky blower fan has to work really hard to keep such power hungry cards cool.

It's not impossible to work with them for an enthusiast but if you're building this for someone, presumably because they're not tech saavy, stick with a 1070 or 1080. Perhaps even a 1060 if 1080p gaming is all they're gonna need but we need more details to go on.

Vega are usually more expensive and use blower coolers which doesnt cool too well.

980ti is similar to a 1070, but it is a used card.

1070ti priced well in the US, but I dont know about it in Israel.

980TI, Vega 56/64 are the only options to those that make any sense

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Thx , i was thinking some one will suggest RX cards.. 480 or 580 , i dont remember exactly, i remember that every one was saying  that the Vega cards will be much better then GTX XD.

480 is slightly less than a 1060 6gb and the 580 performs on par with 1060 6gb

vega was overhyped imo

Two RX 480s in Crossfire does match a 1080 in Ashes of the Benchmarks, so expect two RX580s (overclocked 480s really) to match a 1080 in games that work reasonably well on Crossfire. The thing with multi-GPU setups is that performance scaling can differ a lot, to the point where some games can sometimes run fine at 1440p ultra settings and others only at 1080p ultra settings when a single card can run 1080p high settings smoothly (just an example)

Vega 56 does beat the 1070 clean, but the low production and high price is not attractive. Besides the 1080ti is still the king.

The 580 trades blows with the 1060 6gb but the 480 is a bit behind both in general. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Digital foundry test: here

As far as a 1070/1080 equivalent... It has been said already, 980ti or Vega 56 and 64 would be the only options. Get what you like, what is the best value and you feel most comfortable with... They're all good cards.

Do you know that card which Nvidia just recently released that perform between 1070 and 1080? Yeah that card.

None of this turned out to be true.  Vega's performance was woefully underwhelming.
