The Orange Box is 10 years old (and still no Half Life 3)

PC Gamer did an interview with Valve. They probably didn't mention Half Life 3 or anything resembling continuing the story. Oh well.

It will probably never happen.  If it does happen, it could be totally different.  There has been a lot of turnover at Valve since the days of HL2, including the loss of their main writer.  Valve is not the company it used to be.

Unfortunately, Half Life 3 was confirmed dead not too long ago. It's possible the story will never be concluded considering the controversy over the HL3 story being leaked.

Don't think HL3 will ever happen.

Imagine if Valve announced HL3 at some point. The hype would be unreal and the expectations would be so high that it can only ever turn out to be a disappointment or underwhelming at best. It would effectively have to be the best game ever made to live up to it's hype.

 

Remember when Duke Nukem Forever was a meme and not a reality? I liked it more as a meme.

If HL3 comes out, I'll buy it.  If not, I don't care much anymore.  I played the HL2 games about 5 years ago.  I was obsessed about HL3's release date at one point, but it's been so long, I really don't care about the characters and the story much.

 

Valve should stop trolling their fans and just say what's going on though.
