Has my Xbox 360 had it ?? Really Loud fan

WolfLoverPro

Yes I still play Xbox 360 and no I won't get an Xbox 1 ok lol because  for new games I have my PC but I only have my Xbox 360 for games like call of duty n GTA v what I don't wanna rebuy

but anyway I've had this Xbox 360 slim for OMG years ok yearsss and since what last Friday it was fine normal quiet as normal

BUT TODAY it has literally just today start making a ridiculously loud fan noise I can tell you it's so loud well maybe it's the disk but idk NOW here's the strange thing ... it's not actully boiling hot u know the air vent blowing out its actully not hot it's warm as it normally really is but it's REALLY LOUD

heres some yotuube videos of it first video is when it's idle ( and used to be how quiet it was playing games too )

second video HOW LOUD it is today when playing games

1 turn your vol right up to hear

2 turn vol down it gets loud but if you think it's loud at start listen to how loud it gets when I start driving around I'm playing GTA v too

do you think it's on the way out or ? I mean I can ant really be bothered to take it apart uhh it's just takes so long but if I have to WELL I guess I have to I know there only £70 but still

How long exactly have you had it? And has it been stored underneath the fridge? Sounds like the fans are either caked with dirt, or the entire system is. My advice is to take the outer shell off, and check for dust buildup. If its sparkly clean, and it still does it, then the fans are goners. Back up your save files on a thumb drive, and buy a new one. However, you can just replace the fans too. All up to you really.

Sounds mostly like the fan is going to shit. Which is normal for a moving part after a couple years. The fan in the xbox isn't some high end fan from the likes of Noctua after all, so it's bound to crap out sooner rather than later.

It'll eventually carry into your every day writing. Saw it all the time when I was part of the HR department at the last place I worked.

Hahaha, exactly!! The number of times I saw "lol" or something similar in a cover letter or even on the resume itself was appalling. Needless to say, they went straight into the trash. :P

Agree.

At most switch the fan out with a fan that matches the amp and voltage draw of the replaced fan.

Also, since you have to open the case, clean the heatsinks and re apply the thermal paste.  I remember either one or a few heatsinks are held on by screws or bolts with thermal paste under them.  Been awhile since I open a Xbox 360 for cleaning.
