...Or I could just download the drivers using PS/2 peripherals, right?

Yep, a bit more searching brought up that PS/2 peripherals will work.

I appreciate everyones efforts here, it's not like I'm too lazy to just Google stuff myself but I literally haven't heard anything about W7 missing xHCI drivers for example, that would've been a nice surprise for my first build :D

PS/2 keyboards are nice things to keep on hand.  Thankfully it is a connection that server mobos and some high end mobos keep.

I'm very aware of that, but saying that Windows 7 has no telemetry is a misconception, the regular Joe that keeps his Windows updated will simply go into Windows update and update everything as per MS recommendations.

The links I posted list the updates and service that have to be disabled for Windows 7 to be "telemetry free" (meaning, I'm aware of the situation ;) )

You don't even need to do that. Windows 7 (without the update) and Vista and XP all have telemetry data enabled by default.

The disable option is buried. So in other words, if one have never done anything, it is enabled.

Trying to revive this

I realized my external optical drive is connected via USB and therefore unuseable for the installation (dumbass, but at least I realized before buying anything).

Can I Install Windows from a USB drive that has xHCI drivers on them (Using RT Seven Lite) or will I need to buy a internal (->SATA) optical drive and just leave it connected for regular installation?
