Disable Asus X570-E PCH Fan

The noise is driving me crazy now. Can I disable it physically? I do not game and only 1 M.2 slot is used. PC is not worked hard.

Unplug it?

But watch temps, it's likely load has little effect on power draw and it's required even at low loads.

Those motherboard fans have a modular header connection some where on the board, simply unplug it. I think you can even control it in the UEFI, simply turn it down below 1500 RPM.

The header for it on the motherboard will be a little mini fan connector. I've done this on a couple boards including that X570 Impact since its got an aircooled CPU anyways providing airflow across the VRM/chipset.

Thanks a lot! Looked for a replacement fan online but cannot spot the exact type. Can I just disconnect the fan? My case is Be Quiet 900 pro with very good aircooled CPU and excellent case internal airflow.

You could always just disconnect it, a lot of those fans are based around a watercooler where there's very little if no air flow around the CPU socket. A problem that a large aircooler doesn't have, but I would still monitor temps before and after if you're doing that. The system where I did this isn't a gaming system anymore, so there's not a high wattage GPU in a SFX case raising the local temperatures of the chipset/VRM.

Great! My CPU cooler is Be Quiet Dark Rock 4. I also do not game or do intensive tasks such as Video editing / processing. Hopefully this will fit in with what you have said.
