Why in gods name would anyone choose to get an FX8350. It's been a terrible choice for gaming since it launched in 2012.

I have been using it for a CPU (Havent updated signature in a long time) to play games Like GTA, Ark and The Division. Along with CSGO. It hasnt dissapointed me. Hense why I recommended it. Personal preference.

Sure, it's capable, but that doesn't make it a good choice.

You shouldn't be recommending something to someone just because it has "served you well" while there are FAR better options available.

Plus, you can't stab a FX 8350 into LGA 1150.

FX 8350 gives horrible performance compared to modern Ryzen 3/5

I5 4770K/I5 4790K can go for around $170 or less

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

Yes, you can, but why would you want to encourage someone to buy an inferior product that has been proven to be worse in every way by dozens of professional reviews and hundreds/thousands of non-professional reviews.

That makes absolutely no sense.
