XBOX ONE outsold PS4 2-1 on black friday

nicehat
According to retail research firm InfoScout, Xbox One has outsold PlayStation 4 two-to-one on black Friday.

Similarly, Xbox 360 has outsold PlayStation 3 by the same ratio on the same day. In fact, Xbox One ad Xbox 360 were the top selling consoles with sales shares of 31% and 30% consecutively followed by PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 with 15% each.

Unsurprisingly, Nintendo's Wii U and Wii tailed behind with sales shares of 6% and 1% consecutively.

But those numbers don't actually paint the whole picture as InfoScout believes that PlayStation 4 sales are hindered by supply constraints while Xbox 360 sales were boosted thanks to its super discounted price of $99 at Walmart.

In any case, looks like XBOX takes the black friday crown. Maybe a microcosm of things to come?

this survey was taking by 3000 people so it is not a comparison. by the way ps4 was already sold out on most store's so it has no point.

I do agree with the fact that there were less PS4's sold because of amount that were actually available. I work at Walmart and for black Friday we received 44 Xbox One's and only 8 PS4's. So yeah there was more Xbox Ones available so of course more were sold.

I don't know why I doubt this. But I do.

Also, consider the fact that PS4 had more pre-orders than XB1. Just saying.

A bone outsold a sexy looking console.

IMO the PS4 looks ugly, that's just me though.

they aren't taking into account the European market. Ps4 made a killing in Europe.

3,000 is hardly a small sample size. Most research groups would consider that a rather large sample size.

please do explain why 3000 People are no comparison?

Standard sample size is 1000 People. Which is the lowest for a expressive research...

On topic:

The source of the Data is InfoScout a Company claiming to be able to track Black Friday sales in real time. They encourage People to send in their recipes in exchange for coupons. As the sample group is not selected but rather voluntary and there is no back ground check (e.g. Income, family status, etc.) the Numbers can be fought.

But overall I think 3k People is quite convincing number and even though Xbox sold their console at 99$, it's a hell of a lead if they out sold PS4 by 2:1.

didn't the ps4 outsell the xbone overall?

personally i purchased a ps4 for my young brother, i wanted to build him a pc but if i did he would've ended up playing alone since all of his friends got ps4's. so i got him a ps4 instead so he can play bf4 with his mates.

Sry man, i know that you did the research on this, but this makes no sense to post as relevant news. Why you may ask?

Well:

1. Black Friday works in North America only if i am not mistaking ( if i am wrong, spam me with links to prove me wrong, feel free, will not get offended )

2. The article says in the US, that means it has no Canada involved.

3. Play Station never outsells Xbox in North America, the rest of the world is different, I am from Europe so i know why i say this, i can not even think of 5 people i know that have an Xbox ( any gen ), all have PC-s, PS ( 1,2,3 ) or a Wii.

4. This means nothing, because naturally Microsoft will give discounts on it's products to their largest costumer base, Sony does that too.

On black friday, in America. I dare say the rest of the world cares very little for that :P

Both of them are selling as well as expected, the PS4 probably has a little higher numbers thanks to the wider number of markets being sold in.

World still doesn't revolve around the US, sorry :3

How come these freaking consoles go on sale while GTX Titans(fine 780ti) never do! Hardware companies really need to start marketing outside the PC enthusiast sector of the internet.

Or it could be that they don't want to put their stuff on sale which would make sense...
