I don't think this will ever work.

 

I'm a pretty nice guy, but if that thing turns up at my door... I'm taking it and the package.

 

There are so many other failure points in this plan...

but then they know who took it and im sure it will have cameras on it maybe

Jeff Bezos talked about how, 18 years ago, he'd drive packages to the post office himself, and dreamed of one day owning a forklift. (Things have changed a bit since then.) He says we're four or five years from drones being able to deliver small packages right to your house.

 

I dunno if I would want to trust my online deliveries to this drone. I know it'll be insanely fast, but it needs to be tested A LOT more first before it ever gets used, but that's just my opinion. Is it a crazy idea? Yes. Is it a genius idea? Yes. This really is really cool and all, but it just needs to be tested more...

How long will it take before everybody have a tiny heliport on the roof with a QR code for Drone's to scan to check the address of deliveries?

I'm guessing they will go to a certain cordanate pair

In your plan? Yes... It will obviously have GPS and probably a camera as well.

 

10 minutes after you took the drone: "Ohh, I wonder where our drone is. It was suppose to deliver a packet to Puppet who lives at ImaginationStreet 6 but it has not returned. Ohh well, the GPS is on at all time so we can see where it last were, oh looks it's inside the house. Let's call the cops".

 

Again, you wouldn't steal the delivery truck, and these drones would probably be even easier to track where they are.
