Is floatplane worth it

Go to solution Solved by Eduard the weeb,

Thanks everyone for the help I plan on getting floatplane later this week BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE.

So I am currently on the fence about joining the floatplane club. I love LTT and everything but I want to know is Floatplane worth it or should I just stick to youtube and the normal forums or should I become a pilot.

Ex frequent user here, still check in here occasionally. I stopped being a weeb in 2018 lol

Worth is something only you can decide.

It's $2.99 a month, next to nothing. If you love the videos, then I'd say it's worth it to see them a week early. You also support what they're doing.

Personally, I've been on the fence. Lately I haven't really enjoyed many of the videos, so for me, it's currently not worth it.

TOTALLY 10/10 WOULD KEEP BUYING.

Jokes aside , i think its really worth it , the experience is neat and having a week of content is awesome. I already have Youtube RED so Paid subscriptions are justified.

I really only got if for Scrapyard Wars 5 and will probably do it again for 6.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

well what something is worth to you is something only you can decide. but all i can say is the quality is awesome plus one week early. usually i dont really care about early access except when scrapyard wars is on :). also downloading is a nice feature since im on business travel a lot and hotel have crappy wifi for streaming.

one thing im not sure about is this im paying 3 bucks a month but now i watch everything on floatplane instead of youtube i mean i dont know but dont they loose a lot of clicks on youtube?

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

Like said, testing for 1 month is super-cheap. I personally do it more for support of company than anything else. There are some extra perks besides option for downloads and no ads. Like getting some exclusive content and even more interaction with staff.

damn, I was going to do this. Nonetheless, I think it's well worth it. $3 for float plane, to support the guys, and get early access? I'll continue.

All of the "so I spent $1000000000000 on an item so I am cool" video.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

I'd hope eventually they do make one because it would be nice to access Floatplane from a phone if I do get it.

I subscribed months ago, when I first heard of it over the WAN show, to support LTT.

However, I sticked to it because it actually suited my needs more than I thought. In particular, when I'm away for days or weeks for work and I have a long trip back home on train/etc I can download all the vids I missed and watch them offline at full quality.

Also some of them (RED camera in particular) videos really looks MUCH better on FP than youtube.

Please, for the love of God, don't pay your hard-earned money just to see something early, it will be on youtube for free.. The whole point of youtube is to put content on there and they even allowed people to make money on it.. but it's never enough.  patreon/paypal/floatplane.. too far

It will come eventually. But for now their development focus is with actual platform launch.

You can already access it from phone. Safari might be bit tricky, but other major browsers like Chrome and Firefox work just fine with mobile forums, mobile streaming and even downloads.

Yeah I've been thinking about doing that, I just hate how it somehow rewards them for doing content I frankly find worse and worse as time goes on. It's a shame they feel they have to cater to such young viewers, but I've found other channels to watch instead. I wish they had some sort of forum contributor deal that gave special forum features...though I'm honestly not sure what they could be. I know "no ads" is one of them but I've never noticed them anyway. *shrug* :P
