Is there anything like this?

Guest

Imagine a device that detects when you get up from your chair, and will do whatever you program it to do, like a macro (put your skype status as away, turn PC/monitors off, etc.)

And maybe even reverses the process when you sit back down? It's not necessary, but it would be cool =D

Do you know if there's anywhere that its sold, let alone exists? Maybe a detector-seat? hehehhe

I don't think USB butt plugs count...............

Or do they....

I used to do that with BlueTooth and my phone (which I would have in my pocket)

How would it work? When you lost bluetooth connection as you walked away the pc would recognize it?

Pretty much, yes, and then it would run some scripted events. And then I would have it run different events when I came back and the connection was re-established ;)

Edit: I think Asus has something NFC-enabled for their Z87 range which can do stuff like that too, just put your phone on top of it, and away it goes
