Trust us, dual 1080tis are better. I have 2 of those and they rip through everything. If you really want to spend more, then get 2 Titan Xps.

Hi there I'm Looking to buy 4 1080's but I'm questioning weather or not a person on a reliable channel on youtube (that i've forgotten) said that there was a restriction on how many 1080's you can have in SLI. He said the max amount of 1080's you can have in SLI is 2 unless you get permission from developers or something to get 4 1080's in SLI.

yes, Nvidia locked it to two in SLI now.

More than 2 way SLI isn't value for money, and creates alot of glitches in real-world use.

You may be better to go for 2x 1080ti for real world usage such as games. I don't know if video editing allows for use of 4 cards.

Nope, no 1000-card supports it.

If you find any grammar or spelling errors please fill out entry permit A38, thanks.

Nope, they are the same. 4 way SLI is pretty stupid, you wont see much performance gain from it (Devs dont often optimise for 2 cards, let alone 3 or 4).

You can use 4 way sli with 10 series cards, but it is only really supported for benchmarks like fire strike. In actual games, you will have a tonne of problems and it is not officially supported there.

Don't do more than two.

If you need more performance then buy 1080tis or titan XPs.

No.

4 way "SLI" is only considered for business purposes.

However, if you aren't gaming, you don't need SLI and can use X GPUs at the same time.

While if you are gaming, you simply won't need it since nothing will take advantage of it.

NVIDIA did that because of the lousy gains after two-way SLI.

I don't find it stupid because im buying a 4k camera and I plan on doing alot of editing with a setup that would of had 4 graphics cards in SLI not gaming

Dont think you need SLI for that, should work cooperatively independently SLI.

I'm not to into computers Which means I don't really grasp the whole SLI thing apart from all of them making 4 gpus act like 1 big one that gives lots of power, I'm more into editing and camera work which is why I need a better pc than the current one I am using!

I can assure you that SLI TITAN X's is sweet as candy and it would be more bragging rights than quad 1080s

You don't need an SLI bridge for your use case, that way, you could actually buy 4 cards. But I would not recommend it because you will probably be fine with just 2.

You don't need 4 cards just to edit 4K video. So long as you at least have a 6700/7700 and a 1070 you'll fly with sparkling rainbows shooting out your ass.
