both are viable, i personally like ultrawide better.

i want an ultrawide but i dont think i have the space, so i think id go dual 4k monitors(depending on the price) although what non gamery looking 4k monitors do you reccomend?

I would do 4K/ultra wide, its the most immediate upgrade (by that i mean it will feel like the biggest upgrade)

Dual monitors take up more space than a single ultra wide

At 1080p and even 1440p in some oddly specific scenarios your 1800x WILL bottleneck that 1080 ti. At 4k however, thats a non issue. 4k monitor+another 1080 ti sounds solid af to me

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

In my opinion the only one of those three options that would give you more headroom and performance you can feel, is the water cooling. the dual displays will give you less fps than you have now and dual 1080ti is just a way of saying "I dont have any other things to spend money on" the improvement there is soo small - unless you after that will upgrade to 2x4K, then it would make sense to start with the dual ti's

less than 60?

look it up on youtube people have done it there and to SLI 10-series cards gives very little improvement as far as I can see, unless you have extreme conditions like dual 4K monitors

id probably get dual (identical monitors) one after the other, either way idk what to buy first as this will be a transition over a little while

4K definatly, then the 1080TI and then watercooling.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

after buying a 4k monitor, 4k is great for desktop usage for me. better than ultrawide

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

would a 1080ti even suffice for high-ultra 60fps?

i find ultra to be bullshit :P

literally, i see almost no difference when playing a game except for the lowered resolution and 0.1% lows for me.. (WD2, 1070)

maybe..? you are going to have to test it out yourself
