Why is the pentium seem so good yet its cheap.

Because Intel wants your money and hopes you don't look at Ryzen 3

It's the cheapest Pentium with HT, but Intel don't like it, where no one is buying their more expensive Core i3. So they make the G4560 really difficult to get, forcing people to buy the more expensive models. The next cpu above G4560 is like $80 or $90. Anyone getting spending that much, might as well spend a bit more and Get a Ryzen 3.

Yes we all know that but Intel tried attract new builders with the G4560 before ryzen 3 launch. But actually Ryzen 3 is better because of performance and its price.

Intel pentium g4560

(Copied and pasted the name)

I checked the stats of this CPU from someone and found out it's pretty good(for a budget build) CPU. So good that I'm wondering how something good can cost so little.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Pentium+G4560+%40+3.50GHz

Because it's not aimed for gaming. It's aimed for every day computing and basic office machines. It just so happens that most modern CPUs on both sides can do some decent gaming.

ryzen did a good job at offering better price to performance than any intel from $100 up to $300 ...

i3 = smashed (why buy 2C/4T when i can have 4C/4T for the same money)

i5 = smashed (why buy 4C/4T when i can have 4C/8T or 6C/12T instead?)

below $100 = get pentium

above $300 = get 7700 (if you don't need the extra threads of the r7)

but why did intel start selling pentium CPUs with hyperthreading (and thus raising the pentiums price to performance rating significantly) ?

i don't know for sure but maybe intel tried to make their pentium line more attractive for low budget builders to drive them away from buying AM3 or FM2 CPUs. (wich was the cheapest option to get a "4 thread" cpu before the G4560 dropped if i remember correctly)

G4620 which is slightly better but $20 more at $100 USD so Ryzen 3 1200 is $10 more and also around 10% faster without an OC plus it is 4c/4t vs 2c/4t though you already know this. Random Gaming did a comparison of the 4560 and 4620 a couple weeks ago.

i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz on Hyper 212 Evo

Powercolor RX 480 8Gb Red Devil @1330Mhz

Bottom line:  Don't be a spaz or an 800lb gorilla when installing your expensive CPU, and you won't have any problems. --Phate.exe

Not comparing AMD to Intel or anything, but a faster cpu will help in everyday task, even installing Windows Updates.
