7600K or 7700K to pair with gtx 1060 6gb

hi im upgrading my I5 4460, already bought a asus strix Z270F motherboard. will be using my existing graphics card (galax gtx 1060 6gb exoc). i will be gaming mainly, 0 content creation. should i get the 7600K or the 7700K? its about $140 difference here in south africa. thanks

He's already bought a motherboard though... I'd probably go with the 7700k unless you can find a use for the money you would save from getting a 7600k. Honestly, performance won't be too different, but the 7700k is much more future-proof

Read again, he already bought the z270 motherboard so ryzen is a no go. I say the 7600k should be fine for now. You can upgrade to a 7700k later if you feel like it.

Agreed a i5-7600K will be plenty. ESPECIALLY for a GTX 1060. Stick with the 7600k and have a happy gaming system.

OC and 5% better IPC can't make it a better CPU, an i5 is still a 4c/4t CPU.

Dood, an i5 is by no means "futureproof". Get the 7700K if you want a "futureproof" CPU.
