NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black Edition

Nicktrance

There were rumours before the official 780 Ti launch that nVidia will be launching an improved version of the Titan graphics card with two 8 pin connectors by reference design and consuming up to 375W with no TDP limit, higher clocks and 12GB!! of VRAM.

Back then it was called the "Titan Ultra" but it has been revealed that it might also be called the "GTX Titan Black Edition" (sounds like an AMG Black Merc). Recently more pictures have shown up and it seems that it will feature the full configuration of the GK110 GPU architecture with higher clocks than a GTX 780 ti.

That said still take this with a pinch of salt as it might be an engineering sample or just rumours.

Shhh.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

I don't think this would be quite necessary tbh.

I'm not trying to be rude since your notifying that there is a new Titan edition but. This isn't really aimed at us consumers. TDP of unlimited should've been just under N/A

There's no way that bus is big enough to use 12GB of VRAM

Yeah, same memory config as the K6000 it seems, so it's not technologically impossible, although it does sound weird that they might be competing against their own Quadro cards.

12Gb won't be very good on that 300bit speed..... Going to say normal 780 is still good price point for what you get.

I thhink nobody expected this to have a decent price considering it's an improved version of the Titan which is already insanely priced and yeah it's beginning to sound more and more like a Quadro K6000, so take this with a massive pinch of salt, I doubt these specs are accurate but a higher end Titan is not out of the question IMO.

I don't know about you guys but the quality of that card looks super dodgy... The windows is hardly even clear so either it's an early engineering sample or it's a custom-painted Titan I'm thinking.

It's 336 GigaBytes/second

Shouldn't that be more than enough?

A high bit doesn't matter if the clock is extrem high.

The R9-290X has 512bt but it has only a 5GHZ clock.

This card would have a 7GHZ memory clock.

In fact it would be even faster then the R9-290X vram.

And you could easy use all of that ram it works fine on the K6000 and that card has a lower clock.

Count me as a skeptic. I don't know where this would fit in the market (nvidia has no reason to do this), and it looks like someone just painted their titan.

well it could replace the current titan but that means the current titan has to drop below or at the 780 ti price point. Although honestly even if you were to consider this for a muti gpu setup (for gaming) than amd still has nvidia beat as they are working on tech that allows each card to use its memory for different things meaning 2 cards with 4 gb of memory will result in 8 gb of usable memory.

if this comes out it could hold the crown for multi gpu setups in gaming for maybe 6-12 months but its most likely aimed at professional use.
