What Car Should I Get For Under $70,000?

Max_Settings

I'm trying to decide on what car I should get. My max budget is $70,000. My #1 right now is the new 2017 ZL1 Camaro. This thing is amazingly fast. However I don't know if want a sports car, or something more practical like a luxury car. Here's my guidelines.

1, Must be $70,000 USD or less (with a $1,000 give or take)

2. Would prefer new, but if it is used preferably would like it to be 2014 or newer (unless there is something crazy good or cool a bit old)

3. Would like it to do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, however not required, but preferred.

Let me know what you think I should get, and what car would you buy with a $70,000 budget?

GT350(r) would be an option if you don't like the ZL1.

5800X3D / ASUS X570 Dark Hero / 32GB 3600mhz / EVGA RTX 3090ti FTW3 Ultra / Dell S3422DWG / Logitech G815 / Logitech G502 / Sennheiser HD 599

2021 Razer Blade 14 3070 / S23 Ultra

Yes, let's ask this on a tech forum where people argue about whether the extra $20 is worth it for slightly faster RAM. Make sense. xD

Only reason I did is because there is a thread with over 100K replies about cars which I believe is the largest thread on the site.

Not a joke.

Humvees are old and slow

Not when you dump in a newer diesel engine. But they are heavy as fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the Rubicon, you could deck that out nicely and still not reach $70K. Talking 16Klb winch, ARB air lockers, once you get into new axles you could reach $70K. Perhaps some Rockwells and 44's would be smoking hot.

You put it in the right spot, OFF TOPIC

Why not? I like the Ford Raptor or the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT which is like 600HP. Or the Range Rover Audiography with its airbags, but thats double the 70K, more like 150K, but you could buy a used one 2 years old for $40K then deck it out with $30K worth of extra shit.

Go for a 2012 Ford Mustang that you can pick up for $5000, convertible, then deck that out. Be a sleeper drag racer. Chevy, its like 572CI is like $15K.

I'm just pointing out that the quality of the replies you'll get here will probably be less than helpful to your situation.

Or a new hemi car thats a few years old with a blown engine, then slap in a true Hemi engine from the olden days.

Or an old Viper

Me Myself, I'd purchase an old muscle car that has matching numbers. It'd have to be a convertible. Lots available for $70K

Ford Focus RS. It'll only run you half that, is an insane little hatch, and looks awesome. With $30+K to spare, you could get it pimped out and turn it into a little rally/street/track car. Though it's already insanely capable. (And I want to get a 2017 one in a couple years when they're affordable).

It's not really a Focus, as much as a $40K beast with 350hp in that tiny car, race mode, an insane drift mode, all wheel drive, the whole works. Sounds awesome, looks awesome, and is much more practical than a sports car. You can take it to the track, drift around on some gravel, pick up groceries, tote some manly stuff from Lowes, and that little 4 cylinder probs won't need near as much gas as a big 'ole V8, or even V6.

EDIT: and yeah, depending on the car, V8s can suck a lot of fuel. I've got no idea how much gas my dad's '88 Mustang GT 5.0 needs, but I know the 4.6L V8 in my Mountaineer isn't that good. 14MPG is about as good as it gets, though a I think I may have gotten 15-16 once or twice.

It's 350hp, and yes I know it won't use as much fuel, but I don't really care about gas mileage.

Ah. My bad. Though that just makes it even more awesome (and I'm off to edit my post).

The 810-hp pickup comes with forged pistons and connecting rods, two turbochargers, twin intercoolers, stainless steel exhaust, dual 44 millimeter wastegates, dual blowoff valves, boost controller and HPE engine management calibration. Like the rest, it gets a one-year warranty, and comes dyno tuned from the factory for $55,000.

Stang would be similar cost.

$55,000 with the car? Or $55,000 on top of the price of the car?

I'd bet ontop of the car.

Scrap the stock car idea, go with the Hennessy company!

Yes I have considered those. I have also considered like a used M4, or like a C43 AMG, or a 540i
