7900X Coming In Hot?!

Makes me wonder if the 7820X was the same price as the 1700, and soldered, would the AMD fangirls really consider Intel? Doubtful. They have come from hiding in defense of a good (not great) product after all these years.

I dont know why value is even mentioned here. The people buying this are spending the money because they want their shit done as fast as possible and are willing to pay for it no matter what the price to performance value is.

Its like since Ryzen, things in the past 6 years that never mattered all of a sudden matter. Power and value are all of a sudden number 1&2 priority.

Though you need to keep in mind this as I can tell you that first-hand, not every country is like the US. Sure, the 7900X will cost 999$ in the US, but it will cost 1500$ in countries that have elevated tech prices such as my own, Poland. Now to add to that, people generally earn a lot less here so there goes the reasoning behind value... That is why it is one of the most important parts of making a purchase decision for me :|

So AMD wasn't bashed every time their CPUs were mentioned for big power draw in the past?

Oh, I'm not saying they're lies bud.  Temps will be high if someone is dumb enough to try to cool a high clock speed 10 core with an AIO.  That's just stupid.  Yet all the reviewers keep trying.  4.5 to 4.8 on a small CLC is just ridiculous.  Why not just go for 4.3 to 4.4 and still enjoy the great performance results.

I for one am glad they can clock that high and even higher as I don't plan to use a CLC.  Intel gave me the option on how high I want to talk it and I appreciate that.

No no the thread is irrelevant now. @done12many2 has enlightened us to the lies of all the tech reviewers, they are forming a Cabal to bring down beloved, infallible Intel. The thermal issues are not present it is a scheme concocted by the Cabal to hurt Intel.

Nice try.  Now you really are started to act like a little younger then your age bud.

See who does this shit?

Because those are the two metrics that make them look better then the competition.  Base it purely on performance and things don't turn out the same way.

The reason I am not considering Intel is the mess with the motherboards and it not being soldered. was originally considering a x99/x299 setup but now I am not. intel messed up.

Do you understand what value is? Value is when a $300 product can perform almost as well as a $600 product. Therefore doing not quite as well for half the cost = value.

Comparing a $600 product against a $600 product is calling comparing at the same price bracket and it is the best way to compare CPUs as @leadeater said earlier on. You take offering from Company A at $600 and you take offering from Company B at $600 and you see who is better at that level, then you move on to the next level  and repeat.

I agree man.  Guys in some countries get slayed over pricing and I wish it were different.  With that said, I understand why value is important.  It's very important to me in other things I buy.  The more money I save on the other things, the more money I have to blow on computer parts.

I eat a lot of Ramen noodles and push my car instead of driving it to save money for computer parts.  xD

You realise for me they are $20 apart right? If I buy its 50% off Intel. I would consider selling my AM4 platform if X299 was soldered and if the performance uplift was higher, the reason I don't is I don't want to delid a high value product so I choose an option where I don't have to. For me personally the performance uplift isn't enough of a trade off for the increase in heat and power bills + the hassle of selling my current system, but that is ofc a personal opinion and not suited to everyone.

Of course you'll respond to it now.  You just accused me of avoidance.
