ghetto rig an Intel stock cooler for my 1700X ?

ActuallyGoose

So firstly fuck Centrecom. I've got my Corsair H115i waiting, but need a fucking bracket for my am4 mobo. so for two weeks i've been waiting for a shipment from another cities store. and i've had enough. Can I ghetto rig my intel stock cooler to my mobo and get away with it? Or is that a horrible idea, i'm not sure what cooling ryzen needs, but I assume an intel stock would do sweet fa. Just curious for oppinions

I mean strap it it on securely and see what the temps are like, if its too hot turn it off. There are safeties in place to prevent damage provided you don't force it to keep running.

Gaming - Ryzen 5800X3D | 64GB 3200mhz  MSI 6900 XT Mini-ITX SFF Build

Home Server (Unraid OS) - Ryzen 2700x | 48GB 3200mhz |  EVGA 1060 6GB | 6TB SSD Cache [3x2TB] 66TB HDD [11x6TB]

Some companies sell them for free but then don't ship them for free. Corsair doens't have shipping costs so it's cheaper than lets say CM.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Yeah, I was hoping to not drive into Melbourne, I live about an hour and a half away. So that's like $50 in fuel :/

Annoying part is that most shops are closed on sunday, and monday is a public holiday. So i assume they are closed then too

Yeah especially computer stores. Well no luck, I couldn't find a single store that stocked the bracket near Geelong, they're all out near Glen Waverly and Tulla.

I saw that CPL had them stocked, if i bought one with express postage, it should get here by hopefully tuesday/wednseday (Annoying since I know for a fact Frankstone and sunshine Centrecom have them stocked, and they were meant to have one sent 2 weeks ago)
