i7 to i5

i have an intel core i7 3770 (non K) that seriously needs to be replaced, this is so sudden and i don't have much but i can scrape to get an intel core i5 7600k with cheap motherboard, an air cooler (maybe be quiet! pure rock) and a pair of 4x2Gb ddr 4 ram (currently i have 16gb of ram), will i see an impact on my performance? will it be better or worse on a new generation i5?

if there's another suggestion i'm open for it, thank you

Your 3770 is better than the 7600K. If you want a real upgrade, get a Ryzen 5 1600 or an i7 7700 (with a B250 motherboard)

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

Why would you do that? The 3770K isn't that slow. What do you use it for?

Clock for clock the Ryzen will be slightly faster than Ivy Bridge, since all Ryzen CPUs can be overclocked the R5 1600 will be faster and even with more cores, really nice upgrade from a locked i7.

Depends on the programs you use

What GPU do you use? If your editing this wouldn't be an upgrade what so ever. I would just save up if I were you.

Your CPU actually died? Wow...

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

So, it just outright doesn't work anymore? I would get a R5 1600, I would have a hard time recommending the i5 if you will be editing and for a 1060 it's more than enough.
