Does this happen in everything, including stuff like BF and Firestrike?

 

Go look in your bios, there might be an option to set the CPU frequency to fixed.

Interesting to note.  if i overclock to 100 mhz i get worse fps and scores.

You should be able to overclock the CPU to 3.6-3.7GHz. I think Paul's Hardware has a good overclocking guide for Ryzen. You should take a look at it :D

BTW, faster RAM definitely helps with Ryzen... What is your RAM frequency?

Onnnn to another issue hahahahhahahahhahah ;)  which is the ram i bought is corsair led 3000 mhz ram but it wont post at that speed so instead i run it at 2666 mhz at 16 gb in dual channel mode.

After research ALOT of people have the same issue with ram speeds with ryzen and some get rated speeds.  others get less.    its a gamble and i guess better timings?

I know but isn't the 1080ti under performing too much at 2560x1080p to be simply a single thread performance bottleneck? especially in a game that does multi-thread well?

Definitely, but I was mostly talking about the Firestrike score :D

Probably the GPU drivers.... Uninstall them with DDU and reinstall them

thats the thing ill do that again BUTTTTT i have done that at least 4 times in the past 3 days.   I try different drivers too.  i roll back.    I try again and go for the latest.   All the same general result.  I go into safemode too just to you know.....be safe hahahahhaa

It would have been nice of you to note you're running a stock cooler on your cpu. You should look into overclocking that 1700 and if need be, getting a higher quality cooler for it.

 

Having "THE BEST" graphics card and running your 1700 stock is like buying a Bugatti but using donut tires (spares) for all 4 wheels.

Well i kinda also forgot to mention i do have a AIO from evga i bought for the cpu but im waiting on the bracket to come in the mail so i cant use it till then.         That would help im sure.

I never said it wasn't, I said keeping the cpu at stock. Meaning he still has it at 3.0 ghz. BUMP DAT ISH UP.

it seems my boost clock is the ISSUE!!! its not boosting to 3.7 as advertised.     it hits 3.2 at max load.
