ASUS STRIX RX580 8GB vs ASUS STRIX GTX1060 6GB

Go to solution Solved by ZenAcTIViTy,

I've made the purchase.. I got the GTX 1060.. because the RX 580 was out of stock.. Either way.. It's an awesome card! Jumping from a GTX 750 (non Ti)

Guys, I could really use your help

I'm building a custom PC for myself, gonna go straight to the point.

Should I get the RX580 or the GTX1060?

(I'm gonna game on 1080p/1440p)

Help a newbie out

Thanks!

As long as you don't do anything OpenGL related (AMD drivers suck for OpenGL and cause artificating under certain lighting conditions) and can find one that isn't inflated thanks to meme coin miners. Then sure, a 580 will be fine. Otherwise, go with the 1060.

I think OpenGL works well (or better) now

Both will be great, buy the cheapest and also keep in mind the 1060 draws a lot less power.
