Gotta admit the 7820X looks pretty amazing for the price.  That 7800X is pretty amazing too.  If I'm not mistaken it pretty much looks like an updated 5820K.  Can't remember if the 5820K had a bigger cache or not though.

With Skylake-X, L3 cache has been reduced and L2 cache has been increased from 256 kb to 1 mb.

The 7820K looks very similar to the 6850K, only difference being more cores and less PCI E lanes. If you want more cores, this is a better deal, but if you want more PCI E lanes for around the same price, the 6850K gives you 40 lanes for only $30-40 more....

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K | Motherboard: Asus Maximus Code XI | Graphics Card: RTX 3090 FE | RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 MHz |

Storage: LOADS of drives: SSD + HDD | PSU: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 850 W |

Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout (window) | Cooling: CRYORIG H5 Universal

No it doesn't, the X299 chipset gives you another 24 lanes, so you get 52 lanes in total, 12 more than the 6850K (and X99) :P

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

Well, technically, 4 more with a 7820k + chipset as 6850k + 8 x99 chipset lanes = 48.  :D

They are PCIe 2.0 lanes so they aren't very useful :D
