YouTube 1080p

fracking4oil
Go to solution Solved by fracking4oil,

Figured it out, you have to enable dash playback now to get anything above 720p. :(

Ever since about the time YouTube forced Google+ on us, I haven't been able to get an option to play videos above 720p, even when stated in the title that a video is in 1080p as well marked as 1080p by YouTube Center. Is this an issue everyone is having or is something up with my settings or something?

Have you tried signing in to Google+? That's how I managed to watch videos in 1080p. But I'm not sure whether it's because of that or because I reset my IE settings and add-ons.

Yeah, but do you get an option to select 1080p when you press the cogwheel on the player? I can play 1080p videos just fine, except now that YouTube won't give me that option.

Hmm, YouTube Center seems to be preventing videos from giving me the option of anything above 720p (wasn't the case until recently). By disabling YouTube Center I get all the resolution options back, only problem is that I hate YouTube without YouTube Center.

That's silly, the whole point of YouTube Center was to disable that :P Along with changing the layout and scaling videos.
