I'm assuming you mean i5 7400.

Basically, the Ryzen CPU will be better in general at everything but the pricetag is also higher, so if you're willing to spend the extra for Ryzen I would almost certainly recommend it.

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

If you can find an i7 7400, you will have some awesome skillz, and I would grab that one. Otherwise: Ryzen.

It will cost a little more, but defiantly performs better.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

@Femin Dharamshi

R5 kills the kaby lake i5 range for price/performance. The locked 7400 vs an unlocked R5 1600 (don't buy the X model there is no need its just a factory OC that you can apply yourself, also no cooler included with the 1600X) is no contest. The 1600 wins on all fronts (gaming - because it is overclockable, productivity, editing, streaming and future proofing).

The only person recommending a locked i5 in 2017 is Linus but then again he has to in order to enjoy those Intel monies/free stuff (see the comments/forum thread regarding his latest "build guide" if you don't believe me).

And also better with high Hz RAMs, thumbs up 1x!

get the R5 1600 not the R5 1600X because it's cheaper, it overclock the same, and it comes with a cooler ;)

more or less...some ryzen chips won't even be able to reach 4.0ghz stable even with a massive AIO...but who cares...even at stock it's still better than a locked low clocked core i5.
