You could game with the best smartphone in the Galaxy, but your battery still sucks..until now

We all know that lithium ion chemistry and the technology behind batteries has stagnated for years. What good is a curved OLED 4K display with a Tegra processor or a 16 core CPU if your battery is still living it up like its 1995?

Well the good people at LucidLogix have come up with GameXtend software which claims can extend battery life while gaming. The "bettery" battery software (see what I did there?) uses a series of algorithms to reduce power draw in real time lengthening 2D and 3D play times.

The first phone to get the tech is the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung says this software will allow it to leverage the fastest CPUs and the highest res screens while ensuring a great experience.

Lucid maintains that in its tests with the Galaxy S4, it yielded an extra 2-3 hours of play time from a single charge.

Sweet! I think if this has any merit to it, we might see this tech on other devices like tablets (slightly better to game with)

They should find a way to apply this to all applications! That could double or even triple battery life!

Like ti really matters Android is so fragmented there will always be problems with all software. If this was for iPhone that would eb much better but we all know Apple would co** slap the first person to show this idea to them.

Same here I can never really find mobile games much fun but I do use my phone otherwise a lot and I do run out before the day's over even when using an extended battery.
