Yes, you can overclock low-end hardware

Hi, I have a Core i3 2120 that runs at 3.30GHz. My mobo is a ASRock H61M-VG3. Both low-end hardware. But I have managed to overclock it to almost 4.8GHz using the stock cooler. Here are some pictures:

(Also, if you think I dont have the stock cooler and im using a water cooler or something, im a super low-end gamer. Just check out my youtube channel)

Are you using Intel speed step? All of your sources say 2.4Ghz

Are you making this post because people think you can't? Provided you have a motherboard that at least lets you touch the FSB/BC and has a compatible CPU installed you should be able to overclock any low end processor. With the exception of a few of the later gen ones. I've heard there are a few CPU's now that even lock you out of the FSB.

Where are you seeing 4.8GHz? My 4770K can't reach even close to that on stock without passing 100* C

Are you sure you know how to overclock?

Because your CPU is running at 2.4GHz and has a max speed of 3.3GHz based on all your screenshots...

4770k overheats to fast, I hate mine so much.

Oh my god... I swear... then my 4770K is 16.8GHz on all 4 cores, give me the world record guys!

 

On second thought, the hyperthreading should double that, so 33.6 GHz!!! ALL TEH HERTZ

FR. It should be running at 3.3 GHz on each core, he downclocked by almost 30%!!!!!!!!!!!!

even in his sig he has the cpu underclocked.
