Posted March 16, 2017 Sup folks, A friend of mine is getting a new CPU cooler and needs to clean his CPU. Most people I know have said to use something like isopropyl alcohol and a towel to clean the thermal paste residue, but we went to a computer store where they specifically told us not to screw around with any chemicals and just use a dry paper towel to wipe it off. Is this right? It contradicts everything I've heard previously. We'd just like to know which method to go for.
