Nah nvidia would lose money if it stoped milking people with their Pascal line up yet, Volta will only come After Vega and for good reason so nVidia knows how hard they have to strike back at AMD, at least nVidia seems to be handling AMD revive into the business better than Intel.

I don't think you have been alive long enough to know every single post on the internet pertaining to a GPU. There could have been fake shipping leaks on a Chinese forum that you didn't see. Or fakes that people found out were fake and called them out on it. You're just saying what you know.

To all the people talking about Volta, you do realize there's a big "Ti" in bold in the countdown right ? 

 

Anyway, I still don't understand why the 1080 Ti is released so late when Vega is coming and Nvidia is allegedly preparing either a Pascal refresh or Volta for the end of the year. I mean, I could be one of the potential buyer for a 1080 Ti as a 980 Ti owner but no one in their right mind would spend that much money on a GPU right now knowing what's coming. Plus, my 980 Ti has yet to fail me at 1440p soooo...

The 1080ti is 100% epeen. It offers nothing adding a second 980ti to your case wouldn't offer. Don't do it Kimber.

Well, NVidia has to have something to directly compete with Vega. Do you want them not to release anything at all? If you're happy with your 980 Ti, then the 1080 Ti is not for you. But it doesn't mean it's not for others.

There is an argument to be made that the 1080ti isn't for anyone. It's priced too high for what it offers. It won't lock 60fps at 4k, the Titan X can't. It's going to cost as much as 2 1070. You couldn't buy 2 970 with what I paid for my 980ti. 

 

The 1080ti is kinda BS bro.

I don't understand why Nvidia is choosing to drop the 1080ti now, seems like a wast of time to me. Pascal is 3/4 of the way through its retail cycle already, not to mention they look to really be ruffling their AIB partners feathers with their direct sale only founders edition shenanigans.
