Anyone know if there will be a RX480x?

Probably there won't. It's not needed.

Maybe? The RX 480 is the biggest Polaris chip, so a 480x would need to be a cut-down Vega chip.

I used to be quite active here.

The RX 480 is already the full Polaris 10 chip. Most likely nope

So until Vega is released, there won't be any updated versions of RX 480 or any other Polaris variants?? I'm looking to purchase 480 as well, and don't want to be caught off guard with a better variant coming out.

Pretty much. The RX 480 is a good buy today.

Well, AMD did say they'd have revisions, you know, RX465, RX475 and RX485 but those could be months away. But don't expect a 20 CU Polaris 10 all of a sudden, that's not happening. More likely the RX465 will be full P11 and the RX475/485 will still keep their core count but at a reduced TDP.

Ye ole' train
