Posted January 30, 2017 The power efficiency of even Server Grade XEONs from 4-5 years ago are efficient enough in low usage to stay on without major power draw. Letting your system go to sleep is probably the most optimized you could get next to shutting the system off. Power consumption is very low. Would it save power? Yes. How much? And I have my AIO box with Xeon running 24/7 (may be I have several hous of downtime past 3-6 months). 2x27" displays, nice speakers and etc.. I live alone though.
