Can the 1050 ti handle 144hz?

depends on the game and resolution of the 144hz monitor

Depends on the game and the graphical settings. Even my 1080 doesn't get to 144fps on some games with my 144hz monitor.

CPU: Intel i9 12900K

it can if you reduce graphical settings and play at 1080p, but it depends on the game. well-optimized titles should have no issue though

It depends on the game, the settings you use, the specific model you choose, plus both the CPU and RAM.  On a modern game, I'd say at the very least you'll need to completely disable AA.

Hell no, it depends on what games and resolutions he wants. And RX 480/GTX 1060 can't get 144fps on high settings on AAA titles, CSGO and the other hand would probably work at 144hz. But you can't just assume the games, resolutions, and graphical settings and blurt out hell yea.

Assuming he doesn't have a bottleneck processor, he could run most 1080p games at 144hz.

well the OP only asked if the 1050ti can do 144hz. it's certainly better to go with what you are saying, but i am just going off of OP's question alone. 

 

also 1080p 144hz isn't exactly steeply priced.. though it depends on what "extras" one wants

Nope, I'm positive it can't. Definitely not at 144 fps. Maybe 100 (I don't even think it's that capable)

Anything above 80fps is good for a 1050ti on 144hz

But that's not 144hz, in order for full 144 Hz to take effect you need 144 fps

You don't need exactly 144 fps to see any difference in it besides 60hz, but since he has a 1050 ti, and an unknown processor, it's probably not worth the extra money for the monitor, he had a very brim description of his specs and what games he wants to play so I geuss i jumped the gun saying he could've played every game.

Will it look awful to have 60 fps on 144hz monitor? I wanted to get Asus VG248QE and I have 1050 ti :)

1050Ti maybe not at many games. maybe some esports ones. my 10603gb runs destiny 2 at 130 ish fps on high. so that might be something to look at

144FPS from a GTX1050ti,... thats some ResolutionScaling down for sure....

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
