Nearly Dropped a Part/Lost a part

2nd degree burns to the tips of my fingers. 

 

only after the pain resided, I unplugged everything. Waited a few more hours did I come to learn that the CPU and Motherboard were permanently fried from overheating. heck, it was almost all charred.

I've nearly had the same thing happen to me. Pentium 4s are hot.

Especially the Prescott generation! They didn't get the nickname "Press-Hot" for nothing.

 

I think they were TDP of 135w, but were regularly putting out a lot more heat. it was great in winter. kept my room warm. Not so good in Summer

I dropped my current rig the night I was moving it to my house while it was still in the crate the case came in... I almost shat out my heart when it tumbled back down the steps.

Were there any mechanical drives in it at the time? That's not good for any hardware.

Went to my mobile operator to change my old SIM to a uSIM (I want dat 4G speed!) and I somehow lost the power button on my Lumia 1320. 30 minutes AFTER I bought a new 640 (thankfully). Lil metal thingamabob is now forever lost somewhere

I recently knocked my 3 TB WD Elements external backup hdd from the table to the wooden floor. It was a pretty hard fall, but it still seems to work just fine. Even though there is a small risk of some damage being done, I'll continue to use it for now.

I dropped my old netbook multiple times, it's stupidly light and i tripped over the charging cable a few times.

Still lives tho! It runs XP but it is working fine after all the abuse it went through, i don't know why but i loved it since i saw one for the first time.

 

It's so cute and little and it runs XP or W7, for me it was magic back then even tho i knew how it worked

Two days ago when swapping out my 980Ti for the Titan X i pretty much dropped the 980Ti after disassembling the waterblock.

 

Thank god it only dropped a few inches, but ffs i'm still recovering from that heart attack!

It died.. I dropped the gun and it almost shot my foot. Maybe I should shoot a Gpu next time?

I was on a band trip to Disney World a couple years ago and I opened the overhead bin on the bus and my 4 month old Dell Windows Tablet that I overpayed for fell out and hit a guys leg. It dinted the keyboard dock I have on it. Also I think that is the reason why my shift keys only works half the time now because of that, so sometimes I carry around a wireless keyboard now with it.

I dropped one of my white Adata DDR4 sticks...they don't sell them so I can't get a replacement.
