Think you're probably confused with the double dip laws in the US gov't.

You can only have a single source of federal income if you work for the government. There's nothing stopping him from taking income from any of his businesses though.

 

The anti double dipping law is just meant to stop a high ranking official from creating a new opening and assigning it to themselves to earn a second paycheck. Its actually far... far more complex than that, and has much further reaching implications, but that's the easiest way i can describe it.

Elizabeth Warren (and Senate Dems) just put forth a bill to force the divestment of a POTUS' (and VP) private business(es) and to have the funds put straight into a real Blind Trust.

 

I doubt it will pass, but you never know.

Hey wait... maybe if you take a program that works and give it to the private sector it will be better because they take a cut of the returns as profit.9_9

By that logic maybe in actuality its a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. The bank still owns itself and the community as a whole is not equal to a regulation force that enforces laws.

I don't actually know if it benefits the economy, that really depends on how much the program costs, you could call the program socialistic but the country as a whole isn't socialist, also as I said the program appears to simply enforce already existing laws so if we go down this rabbit holes we have to assume all laws that affect monetary matters are socialistic, or that capitalism can't exist without anarchy (neither of which are true)

I guess so which would explain why I lean towards anarchistic, funny enough based that comment you could say corporations aren't very capitalistic as they are essentially created by the law. Though they are designed to circumvent certain legal obligations a person has and are essentially a necessity in a sue happy society.
