Small protest, you make it seem like Wellington is in the same country as the other ones :P. I demand New Zealand and Australia be listed separately, is the difference not important enough?

P.S. Just messing with you, I don't actually care.

Edit: Also 10pm can't be correct, it's 10am

If they can give me a good product, and also release VEGA at the same time as Zen - I'll be happy.

The 470 and 480 are fantastic products for the market segments they are in.

Vega won't be out until a while after Zen though.

I'll most likely be building my Zen machine, and running it with my (probably by then overclocked) RX 470 until Vega comes out and I buy a fancy new monitor to go with the new card.

FX wasn't enough of a jump in performance for me to upgrade from my Thuban at the time, but unless the things set the building on fire or explode 20 minutes from now, I'm not worried that Zen wouldn't be an upgrade for me.

SFF-ish:  Ryzen 5 1600X, Asrock AB350M Pro4, 16GB Corsair LPX 3200, Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro -75mV, 512gb Plextor Nvme m.2, 512gb Sandisk SATA m.2, Cryorig H7, stuffed into an Inwin 301 with rgb front panel mod.  LG27UD58.

Aging Workhorse:  Phenom II X6 1090T Black (4GHz #Yolo), 16GB Corsair XMS 1333, RX 470 Red Devil 4gb (Sold for $330 to Cryptominers), HD6850 1gb, Hilariously overkill Asus Crosshair V, 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus, 4TB's worth of mechanical drives, and a bunch of water/glycol.  Coming soon:  Bykski CPU block, whatever cheap Polaris 10 GPU I can get once miners start unloading them.

MintyFreshMedia:  Thinkserver TS130 with i3-3220, 4gb ecc ram, 120GB Toshiba/OCZ SSD booting Linux Mint XFCE, 2TB Hitachi Ultrastar.  In Progress:  3D printed drive mounts, 4 2TB ultrastars in RAID 5.

I'd imagine that the 3.4 Ghz is the boost clock.

For AMD this seems too good to be true, like a mirage.

AMD is the company that has a 4.5Ghz stock CPU. doesn't sound unlikely for me

I have to admit, the 470 and 480, to me were disappointing.  The 1070 and 1080 have been out since May and June respectively, and it's almost 2017 with no competition from AMD on that front, and near five years of no CPU competition.  I'm really hoping they surprise us with a knock out of the park with a Zen and VEGA simultaneous release.  nVidia itself has also been disappointing to me in terms of their drivers and pricing.  Hopefully competition can begin again soon.
