Will overclocking help my cpu in battlefield 1?

Okay i have performance issues in bf1, game running at 40fps and i was considering buying a motherboard to oc my cpu (Z97) to 4.5Ghz.

My specs are gtx 1060 Strix 6g, i5 4690K, 16gb ram ddr3.

Would that help?

My cpu is bottlenecking my gpu (100% cpu, 50% gpu)

Before we talk about buying new mother boards and stuff. What are your video settings?

i would assume with 100% cpu it would, but I wouldn't have thought your CPU would perform so badly, I would expect that performance out of a AMD FX. What are other people with your CPU getting in FPS?

Yeah it will improve your battle feild 1 experience just make sure your cpu doesen't get too hot and thermal throttle. Other than that go ahead and OC away my friend.

Ok will try, heard that from some people

Don't increase resolution scale, you will lag even more. Resolution scale is greedy on the gpu, and a bit on the cpu.

I had a 4690k @ 4.6 ghz and was still getting spike lags here and there with the cpu being @ 100% usage.

Dont think its worth to buy a mobo only to OC,

I dont get lag spikes, i just have low framerate

i5's with 100% usage creates stutterring,

anyway, dont think its worth buyin a new board only to oc. waste of $ but u can still try, u will get some gain, but dont think it will be persuable

Really? You need to stop. The guy's talking about low framerate due to CPU bottleneck. Increasing the resolution and therefore creating another one isn't going to improve framerate, it's just going to increase GPU load which is pointless. It doesn't solve the issue.
