Trying to setup Windows 11 with local account.

Gat Pelsinger

oobe\bypassnro command works but this time I ran updates in the OOBE while connected to the internet and now that command doesn't bring up the option to use a local account. Please Microsoft, I just want to use my computer :(.

Microsoft owns my soul.

Also, Dell is evil, but HP kinda nice.

OOBE -> get the .wim packaged-> make it an .iso boom custom iso with installer. Which you can then unleash things like rufus on to remove the reintroduced online only.

Or use like 11 ltsc

@jaslion @DoctorNick

That will require me to re-install Windows. And if so, I can still use the bypassnro command before me connecting to the internet like an idiot. My system is installed, and I want to do it now. Maybe manually creating a local account in audit mode and bypassing the OOBE completely?

Once you have an offline account you can always summon it

Same with just activating the offline admin user

Trying to add a user in Settings > Accounts > Other users opens lusrmgr.msc. I want the normal going through Microsoft account thingy but without using a Microsoft acccount.

Oh that thing has basically been basterdized to shit pretty much unusable. Only way to trick it is join a domain and then just not do it :p. But that isnt always an option

Use local users and groups to create an account and done. Its the far easier way.

Or hell my fav way. Cmd or powershell quick user creation. Can even just have it on a usb, double click and boom users!

I had to do the Rufus method reinstall with Windows 11 to get a local account just to uninstall OneDrive.

Because by default, Win11 shoves everything in OneDrive. Even in my User folder, the Document/Music/Picture folders would just be links to onedrive. If I deleted OneDrive, these links wouldn't just suddenly go away. So you go to save something, select your documents and.... it can't find the folder. Because it's a onedrive link. GREAT.

So, local account, uninstall onedrive and THEN link my microsoft account. What a pain in the ass.

If you already launched bypassnro then it'll have enabled the local account creation, but it still won't appear if a network connection is present. Need to disconnect.
