What fingers do you use for wasd

orangebeaver45

Yeah I do middle on w/s, ring on a, and index on d. As long as it works for you it doesn't really matter, but I'd have a hard time doing much with that fingering since I can't comfortable press buttons on the right, nor can I easily press the space bar.

I use middle on w/s, ring on a, index on d. That's mostly because it's the most comfortable for me and it makes it easier to hit spacebar (how do you do that?) It's how I've been doing it since I first got into PC gaming. All my friends use the same finger positions.

I use TFGH(for most games) so I can't relate to WASD. But I use Thumb for space ring and index for F&H and middle for T&G. I use pinky for X,C,Z,A,S,D.

Index on the D Middle on the W and Ring finger on the A

Leaving the thumb for the spacebar and the pinky for Shift / Ctrl

Out of interest OP what button do you bind to jump? i can't imagine using the thumb on D since it'd be hard to jump unless it was mapped to like Caps lock or something?

but what about those that have lost digits? What do they use?

Depends on how many they lost, and if they are willing to invest in alternative control mechanisms. It might be as simple as buying an XBOX One controller, and using that. Or it might mean using a totally non-standard way of interacting with the computer. There may even be nothing that can practically be done. Some people who have lost digits will simply be unable to play PC games.
